The NGO Education Code, in cooperation with the Municipality of Podujeva, has successfully concluded the “New Energy, New Lessons” project—an innovative initiative aimed at promoting renewable energy and environmental awareness among youth. The project was supported by the European Union through the ReLOaD2 program and implemented by UNDP in Kosovo.

This educational initiative involved 60 high school students from “Aleksandër Xhuvani” Gymnasium and “Fan S. Noli” Technical High School in the Municipality of Podujeva, providing both theoretical and practical training on clean energy and environmental protection. With a special emphasis on encouraging girls’ participation, the project aimed to empower them as leaders of green transformation.

During the project:

  • Interactive workshops were held on photovoltaic systems and renewable energy.
  • Students visited solar and wind power plants across Kosovo.
  • Lectures were delivered by field experts, including Trim Tërrnava, Master of Energy Economics, Ben Dida environmental expert etc.
  • 55 participants were certified for their engagement in this inclusive program.

Site visits to solar parks and wind farms provided students with hands on experience, strengthening their understanding of sustainable energy and the vital role they can play in protecting the environment.

This project represents more than just a training, it is a journey toward transformation. The students involved will act as green ambassadors in their communities, ready to promote sustainable development and environmental innovation.

Thanks to the continued support of the European Union, UNDP, and the Municipality of Podujeva, the “New Energy, New Lessons” project is leaving a lasting impact toward a greener and more environmentally conscious Kosovo.
