Who we are
“Education Code” is a non-governmental organization which aims to support and promote women and youth economic and social empowerment through technology and innovation tools, advocacy and capacity building. As members of “Education Code”, we work on creating awareness campaigns; organizing training and workshops in order to build capacities of women and youth in social, economic and technology fields. We aim to empower the role of women and youth from Kosovo in business and technology, and increase their involvement in decision making in their society.
Our Team
With a blend of strategic vision and project coordination excellence, our team drives innovation, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth in every endeavor.
Mimoza is responsible for creating strategic plan programs of the organization, and overseeing the staff and administration.
Vjosa is responsible for coordinating and writing project proposals; developing and maintaining web platforms for these projects.
Offers advice and expertise to our NGO and help on improving the performance its in terms of operations, structure and strategy.
What we do
Education Code has successfully implemented over 30 projects, with more than 25 as the sole implementer and the remainder in collaboration with other organizations. This track record demonstrates our strong and diverse portfolio and extensive experience in civil society. Our key activities encompass experience exchange and partnerships, non-formal education and training, advocacy and awareness activities, and consultancy and monitoring services. The organizational structure comprises a Board of Directors, an Executive Director, Project Managers, Administrative and Technical Staff, and Volunteers.
Our mission
Our mission is to elevate, promote, and support the intellectual and economic empowerment of youth, particularly women, in Kosovo, and to enhance their involvement in decision-making and educational activities. Our primary goals include supporting the economic and social empowerment of youth and women, integrating them into decision-making processes, building professional capacities for economic and social independence, supporting employment and professional training for youth, raising societal awareness about gender equality, and fostering a democratic society. We are committed to including minority groups and volunteers in our programs, educating and informing the public about climate change, and advocating for environmental protection and climate change policies.
Our Story
Education Code, founded by Mimoza Krasniqi and Vjosa Preniqi in 2015-2016, is dedicated to empowering women and youth in Kosovo through educational and economic initiatives. Mimoza holds significant decision-making positions in civil society, including as a Board member of the Millennium Challenge Account energy project, a member of the Kosovo Women's Network, and the Renewable Energy Association of Kosovo (SHERK). Vjosa, while partially involved due to her PhD studies in Data Science at Queen Mary University, London, continues to contribute to the organization’s vision. The Education Code team acts as a robust pillar between civil society and institutions, working towards a
more stable and prosperous Kosovo.
Our vision is a democratic society where youth, women, and other marginalized groups have equal opportunities for economic and social empowerment, and active participation in education, politics, and decision-making. Education Code possesses the necessary capacity and mission alignment to successfully implement the proposed project. We are committed to creating an environment where all individuals, regardless of gender or background, can develop and contribute to Kosovan society.
